When putting quotes in a research paper must you paraphrase them if you put the

quote in "quotation" marks? Then site the source also?

Don't put it in quotes if you don't quote it word for word. If you paraphrase, you should still cite the source.

if u put in a direct quote then you MUST put it in quotation marks and a citation. otherwise its plagiarism. if you paraphrase a paragraph or quotation then don't put it in quotation marks. only if you copy it word for word and it is a direct quote then you MUST put it in quotations and cite.

If you use the quote word for word, then yes you use "quotation" marks. Otherwise, no. And yes you would need to source down.
