I don't see Frankenstein as being either good or evil but rather a metaphor for our animalistic side (animals, even fierce predators are not evil, thats just what they do).Frankenstein evolves into a more and more violent 'beast' because he is just responding to events that happen to him rather than any concious decision or any internal inclination to do 'bad' things.
