How do i figure out what quotations mean quicker?

Hi, i am on the speech team for my college and i am doing impromptu. this event has you read a quotation analyze it and make a speech about it in two minutes. my problem is that most of the time i don't know what the quote really means and my speech doesnt make sense to the quotation. they say analyze the quotation within the first 30 seconds. Does anyone know a way or a technique to help with this problem. I don't know what to do!
