What do you think about this quotations?Which one do you agree with? Why?

1."If we all spoke the same language, there would be fewer conflicts and wars."

2."Every time a language dies, the world loses a piece of its ability to survive."

i think that the first one is more preferable....the same language here refers to the same understanding of a particular subject.......if the people from all around the globe can agree to one and only decision, then the world would certainly be a better place for all of us to live.....take war for an example,if all the people in the magnificent world agree that it will only invite more damages rather than good, than war would certainly be no more in the world.......
i leave the rest to you.......

No.2 is a true saying. When a language dies, the world would be put up at a mesh. The aftermaths are worst than a hurricane, a tempest. But the people themselves are letting a language to go to graveyard. A word they speak is not specific to the subject-matter they are in conversation with.

Multi-lingual behaviour of the masses is a deadly poison. Nota bene, if a spanish guy speaks spanish, his whole conversation should be in spanish. He shouldnot use foreign words like japanese or chinese betwixt.

Ultimately, the language had already became a corpse, and everything is greek and latin to the listener.

I prefer number 2. I feel this is so true, our world is all about cultural diversity, like it or not, as the saying goes, our differences make the world go around and hey, if the world doesn't go aorund we're all gonna fall off. Oh and by the way have you noticed that most of the people that are involved in wars all manage to speak one common language for the sake of the media - English - but it doesn't seem to make any difference does it? There's still more people than ever being blown up and lives ripped away from them for no good reason.

I agree with neither.
My husband and I speak the same language ......enough said!
Conflicts arise out of greed, power, hatred, desire to exploit etc. I have never heard of a nation going to war because I count my money in dollars and someone else counts theirs in rupees. The conflict arises when I don't give him enough dollars for his rupees.

Every time a language dies the world looses a bit of history, or language expertese, or an example of human communication. We loose some of our cultural richness, but not the ability to survive. The fact that a language dies, tells us that so few people spoke it, that the last speaker has now died. Sady, it will go unnoticed, and will not effect any other nation's ability to survive. We will just have lost an example of how some people used their vocal chords to communicate with another.
