Does education lead people away from religion?

Ever heard Carolyn Briggs? It's an interesting story, and it sounds like a lot of people I've met. Early pregnancy/marriage causes them to cling obsessively to religion... Until they get out of that situation.

Compare the requirement for a Seminary Th.D. and a University Ph.D. in any of the sciences.

If somebody is only in a religion because they are not educated, they don't need to be in that religion. Somebody should be a part of a religion because they ARE educated, both about the religion to which they belong, and also about other religions. You can't fully know what you believe unless you know what you don't.

No. There are people, like me, that find religion after or during school. I used to be an agnostic. I know a great number of highly educated, intelligent people that are believers of all faiths!

The bible speaks of four kinds of people.
Those who's heart is so hard, the word never takes root; those who are shallow and even though the good news takes root it only lasts for a season or less; then those who let the seed of faith take root, but as the weeds of worldly concerns and things come into their lives it chokes the seed of faith; but the last are those who have heart of good soil where the good news can flourish without having the weeds of this life come in choke it.
In time this seed will grow into a plant so large that it provides shade for those around it.

Only you can determine which of these people you want to be.
