Will there be a new religion?

when humans become genetically altered cyborgs that can access parts of the brain that are only available to meditators and mystics today? When everybody can have an experience of higher consciousness at the flip of a switch? Since this is going to happen, what will be the fate of organized religion then?

please please .. we have enough of it. no need of any new. no more division please on the name of religion. in my opinion there should be only one religion in the world . it should be named "HUMANITY"

Some problems with your scenario. Even with electronic stimulation of brain centres, you may not get the results of mystics and holy men. It seems your "holy" brain centre can atrophy, or just not respond at all. Dawkins volunteered to try the "god helmet" and got no results at all. A Buddhist monk got stronger results by just meditating than he did with the helmet. The fact that you have a religious experience doesn't influence your choice of religion. A Buddhist will stay a Buddhist and an Atheist will say "interesting" but will not run out and join a church.
