I'm all for gays getting married. Why are there so many people against it?

I think people mostly, do not study history so they don't really see that it is society that usually determines morality. Back 2000 years ago, it was no big deal to be bisexual or gay. Before it was Ok to burn people because they thought you were a witch. now we think that is crazy but then it was the christain thing to do. A lot of people never do any critical thinking. If someone says being gay is wrong then they believe it and they sometimes can get violent if you don't believe it too. Pretty scary.

I think you got your answer from some of the idiotic responses posted here. The idea that it is somehow like beastiality or incest, or that it is somehow akin to pedophilia is absolutely ridiculous, but many people believe these lies.The same was once said about interracial marriage in America. We had miscegenation laws for a long time based on the same ideas. People said it was unnatural to marry someone outside of one's race and believed that it would cause bizarre mutations or the "downfall" of the white race.Some people are very uneducated. When I mentioned how different races weren't able to marry in the past, someone actually responded, "See? It's true, then. First that, and now this!" I just don't know what to say about people like that, especially since it's been decades since the miscegenation laws were overturned. Go figure!

It's such a sickening thing when the minority tries to push around the majority. Having two "mums" is selfish for the two women that didn't care about the psychological effects that would occur to their child, who can't control who they get adopted/artificially inseminated into. Ever think about that!

There should be a church union and a civil union. Church can be whatever the church wants to be (only one man and one woman, or for the FLDS one man and multiple consenting adult wives, who cares). That union would be recognized by the church only. Then there should be a civil union. That should be recognized by the government. That should include one man/one woman and two dudes or two chicks. Let them inherit or receive familial status that way.
