is there someone out there... im questioning the very believe of our civilization... is there god? .... is there soul... believe science or quran/bible? is humanity based on the religious belive and not on helping innocent people?.... y does god hide him self... left us a holy book but when great disaster strucks thousands innocent people loose there life... kids with out parents... families with no food/shelter... god doesnt see that his creation is suffering?... where is he.... as human we tend to look to our self... people go to africa to help give them religion (excellent really im seroius something to bleive in and hope) but do they tell them how to live.. how to imporve there daily life.. not for one day but for generation?... NO!!.... we do this to satisfy our believe in to heaven.... as our believe say... so are we really helping people... so is religion really teaching us right and wrong.. is it really telling us to help people... is religion real?comon... lets get this straight hasnt religion been part of a political arena for genrations... are the main religions in world even real... comon is any religion real... what religion promises us heaven... is heaven real... the truth im scared... i question today... tomorrow i die and i dont want to confront god and be said i did have the entry in to heaven but u had question him so go to hell... u see where im going... a war from within.. no one outhere will tell the truth... people/civilizations have competed to be the best and still do... but there is no answer... people belive in so manything but y... i bleive.. but thats what i was given so i respect it but sereoiusly .... is it a possibility that what we are today is due to religion and religious belive and not by our self determination... a possiblity that this is all false that religion were ment to be a control of humanity ... a possiblity that our exsistance is not soul but a happening of a organism that happen to be alive?i have a religion for those who wonder... a muslim ... yes its odd but im not scared to ask.. i want answers... y be scared of life... if we all care if all belive then that means we belive in peace and understanding ... right? then y categorize me right away with out knowing who i am... if we are all better people for who we are .. then y are we fighting... look im a strong beliver .. i will not change religion but i just want answers... i will not read comments that give no reasoning behind it... all have a reason a explanation..

Religion, as the codification of social and personal beliefs, is certainly -real- in the sense that it exists. Whether or not it is real in the sense that it describes (in any but metaphorical and allegorical terms) the true nature of spirituality and the continued existence of the 'human spirit/soul' after the physical death of the body is a question that always raises far more questions than it ever answers.At the end of the day about all that can be said is that most of us have a belief (ranging from rock solid to a vague 'feeling') that the human consciousness exists apart from physical existence. And the answer to that question (does it or doesn't it) is the 'real' crux of the matter.HTH,Doug

religion is there yes but feel so deep that God is not there. He looks at these interpretations within these churches and He calls to us to listen and not only be walking into physical stone and wooden structures looking for him and then taking that concept to places like Africa to share> He says "no i am all around you all the time if you will only take the time from your busy schedulle to stop and give God a few moments of your time."

Religion is a man made organization used to instill fear. Soul or Spirit is the energy your flesh hold that sustains life. Just the mere asking of this question shows me in my own belief that your spirit is alive and well but being lost in your ego. If you have faith, ignore mans meaning and just believe in what your HEART tells you, I think you will find the answers your looking for.God is not to be feared and if a person lives a life of love and fun, the knowing of Gods meaning will be evident.If what you hear involves any form of negativity such as guilt, shame, fear, sadness, and so forth, it is not God, it is man.I could go on and on, but my point is stop listening to man made theories and opinions, live with love in your heart while having fun and all your questions will become answers-God has a funny way of making that happen.FYI-I am spiritual with purpose, but belong to no religion. Why do you have so many unsatisfactory? Why are you so pessimistic? Not everything has to be God's problem. For the most part I get what you mean. All that has happened are the cause of human selfishness. Maybe those innocent people die and they go back to heaven. Because of those selfish people God wants the innocent people to be happy and not to be controlled by evil men. Death and suffering might seem cruel but there're always two sides to a problem. Maybe you've seen only one side and has not yet discovered the other. Is religion real? I don't have any religion. I believe that I must do what will value my life and the life of others. Sometimes having a religion can get someone egoistic, because they think that by doing so they can actually have a reliance of their trust and eventually go back to heaven. I think this is wrong!.......Its so much more than this compared to what life can offer.

God is a loving God. He gave the answers to life that men want to know. Not so they could be satisfied with the answers. But so that they could want to serve and worship and love God with all of their energy and emotion and passion. To spread the love of God to their fellow man. The religious truth has answers like Who is God? Did he exist before the universe? Did he create the heaven and the earth? Did he create all living creatures including man who is created in God's image? Is there life after death? Is there justice and reward after life? Will I see my loved ones again? If not why? If so, why? Does God love me? All these answers are found in religious truth. Mostly in the Bible and some in the Koran and the Torah. Religious truth with its answers does not change because God and his wisdom and love for man does not change. That is the kind of truth that all generations of man can rely on.Scientific truth changes when new discoveries are made. Because of the changing answers we cannot rely on it's truth as the final proof. For every new generation brings forth new revelation of knowledge. It is best to rely on God's wisdom that does not change then to trust in man's answers who can never hope to find the end to wisdom. And say with absolute certaintinty that what man has learned is the final and ultimate truth about life.I hope this helps. Take care.

The holy books were written by men who could talk to god and translated by people with no more than a political agenda. These days, we would label these people as (ex. a) delusional or schizophrenic and (ex. b) hypocritical politicians. As for the existence of a higher being, this can be neither proven nor disproven. There can only be someone's "faith" when it comes to that.

You know...I don't blame you for asking these kinds of questions. These things have plagued mankind since the beginning of time. I CAN tell you that I've had out of body experiances though, so I KNOW the soul is real...I believe there is a God, but on the same token everything in the universe has an opposite (meaning there must be a "Devil" or some kind of opposing force). God has not been the one who is making us suffer...it's in our nature to act badly at times...and his opposing force is taking full advantage...b/c it's easier to do the wrong thing than it is to do the right thing. Of course religion has shaped the world from the very start- and they say there are many paths to God...and yes, there ARE people who do good things b/c they think it will gain them their entrance to heaven, but doing good for the wrong reasons is pointless. I am a Christian (but I'm not a traditional Christian, and I've never been against anyone for their beleifs- and I respect a person's right to choose what to believe in), but I believe that God and science are intertwined. I often find it difficult to understand why some people think it's such a crazy thought- I mean, of course evolution is real- we have proof. Of course the dinosaurs and cr-magnons and early homosapians were real- we have proof...but people fail to realize that God HAD to use science in order to create the universe...in order for us (our spirits) to become physical beings. Organized religion was meant to be a guideline for contience, and throughout the ages it helped to shape many things. A culture's spiritualism has everything to do with the way a certain group of people choose to live...I sometimes think that there have been so many religions and forms of spirituality that mankind finally got sick of pondering the issue and created atheism. It just seems easier to disregard the issue entirely than to keep battling from within. I find certain truth i all kinds of things, and I shape my belief system around that...for instance, I believe in astrology (traditional Christians don't). I believe in ghosts, the spirit world, and every kind of paranormal activity there is...but I also believe in the Bible, and I've found that most of my other beleifs are directly connected to it. It IS, afterall, a history book. I don't know, all you can do is try to incorporate all of your beleifs into a system that works for you. I hope I could help
