Can arrogance ever be justified?

When someone says something that is ignorant, or just flat out wrong, could acting arrogant towards that person be justified in your opinion?I am not talking about a difference of opinions, I am talking about if someone says something that is flat out false. What is the most effective way to combat ignorance without being arrogant? Is being arrogant to someone and making them look stupid the best way to correct their errors?I know this sounds very vague, just do what you can thanksAnd I know this doesnt relate to religion per say, but I know R/S is pretty popular so I figured I would give it a try

The best way to combat ignorance is with truth and bravery. If that seems arrogant....oh well.

I guess you can say that the God Yahweh's arrogance can be justifiable. Who are we to say it is not.

I think you have a point. Jesus did it all the time. Jesus was quick witted and very intelligent in his answers. Jesus even told some people off because he knew their thoughts. However, the words that he used against them could be backed up by scripture.

It is not right to make others uncomfortable in any situation.. If your knowledge is greater than another`s, It does not make you superior.. They may have talents that you can`t even begin to reach.. We are all special and Unique.. It is not your right to educate other people in the manner YOU are accustomed to... You do not get to tell them how dumb you think they are. It is insulting. Peace and God bless from Texas <><

I think it's a great question. Your question has made me examine myself. I wanted to answer that arrogance may an art, if skillfully done. It may be done simply for dramatic effect. Sometimes courage may include an element of arrogance. Consider the Americans surrounded and starved for many days who said "Nuts!" That was arrogance, but we loved it.But then I thought better of it. Most of the time arrogance for art or dramatic effect is just doing the ego boogie. It's pathetic to enjoy someone else's disgrace, even when it's deserved. We all deserve it, if ignorance is the cause of disgrace. So I decided to put on my silliest hat and go to the zoo to give the monkeys a good laugh.

really and truly I don't think that you can justify arrogance. People that correct other peoples errors and such are really just trying to cover up for their own mistakes in my opinion or their own flaws.
