| Religion/Christianity is hindering my intellectualism and success in life....
...I need advice.? Growing up/learning/studying teaches you things of the world, competition, common sense, right from wrong, street smarts, all sorts of things. Then enter Ophelia...err Religion, and you get told, oh why learn and achieve things in life, when God doesn't want that, if it's worldly it's sinful. So okay, scratch success, and trying to get a nicer car, and settle for living in a trailer, so you'll be the laughingstock of the neighborhood, but all's well because you'll have God in your life, and then end up on Dr.Phil, on an episode titled "When Religion goes too far." Wonderful, Christians is THIS how you want your God's people to end up? I mean, no offense but stepping outside of an Escalade, shopping at Melrose in Beverly Hills sounds much more appealing to me than "letting it all go for God." Also, to succeed in life, you have to be somewhat smart/competitive, and if ur always "focusing on God, or his will" which he never comes out and just TELLS you what it is, then you can't POSSIBLY succeed and focus. If you're a neurosurgeon you better know what you're doing and you better know your science. Religion/Spirituality also seems to induce paranoid, and grandiose thinking. Egotistic thinking as well. Making it's people missionries, telling us how the world is going to end horribly in flames, and how anyone that's not Christian is evil and going to hell, WTF? I know many non-christian people who aren't like this. THUS FAR all Christianity did to me was, convince me that there is a God and a Devil, instead of just people and their own minds, convince me that my own thoughts, aren't mine but influenced of God and the Devil, suppress my abilitiles to succeed worldly, and achieve a better life for myself and for my family, and fill me with fear, so that whenever I do ANY small sin, I think whoops, going to hell. Oh, and Christianity is also bad for your mental health. I"m sure i have lots of this wrong but still. :-/ How can we make this religion WORK for us, without it trying to REPLACE our own minds? This is a horribly mindwashing and freedom-taking religion, that makes you give your mind to someone else. It's dangerous. I'm not saying that I don't believe in this. I'm saying I'm bitter because I beleived in it, and all it did was ....well, not much of anything! God's will? Whats that? Will God call us? I mean if doing good things and feeling from the heart is God's will, I call that a bluff. I call that your own mind and heart. Guys by all means, answer as you will but please don't think I'm offending you. I'm just offending the religion and many bible-pushers who are so against this world. Maybe you're all bitter because you're poor and unsuccessful, and have no way of getting anywhere, and you hate life and think it's hell, and that's why you preach God? Why the hell would anyone listen to some disgruntled human preach about God? lol. Please. If anything, this religion is just an excuse for poor people to feel better about themselves. Don't think so? then Why is a large majority of the middle east preaching religion, when it lives in squalor? Where is God? they scream. Where is Goddddddd in all of this? IN YOUR OWN MIND. |
