Why do people choose to participate in a religion that belittles you?

Sheep are one of the stupidest animals on the face of the earth. The bible refers to the congregation as a flock of sheep. Why would you want to participate in anything that belittles you like god does?

I hope christians realize that i find them pathetic because of this...

Because they believe what their mommies and daddies told them. They don't want to go against their parents beliefs because they were asked too many times: What will the neighbors think? And they never consider the fact that maybe their parents were wrong.
Most people would rather go through life following the leader rather than learning to think for themselves.

I try to decide what repulses me more...
1. Female Christian or Female Muslim or Female Jew...
-Or especially stupid, female Mormon, or Female Fundy.
2. Black Christian, or Black Muslim, or Black Jew... Or especially stupid

3. How about "Native American" Christian... Oh, that redefines "disgusting"
4. How about "Mexican Catholics" How lovely that they embrace the church which slaughtered their forefathers.

Because He loves us! Because we keep screwing up! God tells us what we should do, and we, as a society. don't do it!

If we ask for God to lead us, He will. If He didn't we'd wander all over the place - and be so lost, we'd never find our way back to God.

because with god as their shepherd, they can just drift through life without really thinking about things.

edit: i didn't mean to sound rude. but that's what i think when i hear people say things like "live and let god."

i was in high school when i saw a girl wearing a shirt that said "when the devil pushes you, P.U.S.H. back!"
and on the back of the shirt, it said "Pray Until Something Happens." i was stunned that someone could want to live their life that way.

You know very well that the "sheep and the shepherd" thing is an analogy. Nowhere in the Bible does it say we are to think and act like sheep. Find some other way to "debunk" our faith.
