I C has a spectacular aura about
End to Religion, End to Atheism, well what about an End to Endism?!?

People on here have a tendency to declare the premature end of religion or atheism and talk about some sort of quasi-utopian ideal that comes afterward.

I'm sure you all know how it goes - we all see the light/get reasonable. The Word of God/Scientific education purges us of our sin/god-belief and the world becomes a better place (not perfect).

End of story right, wraps up in a nice little neat bow?

Well, whatever happened to the concept of backsliding?

Both these viewpoints are attempting to forecast the future, and heck i would contend it goes against both millearian theistic beliefs (Neither the day nor the hour, ring a bell folks?) and for atheists like me a simple understanding of history (Dark Ages anyone? Just takes a nuclear blast).

And why do people always think that this "coming age" is somehow right around the corner? That its our generation, not some future far off one that gets to experience the change.

So why not an End to talking about the End?
