| Is Religion a freedom from morality?
I was wondering if Religion is the solution for when you want to abandon morality? avsa : morality derives from things that best for our species survival. in it's early forms. Now it includes our reasoning and understanding of suffering. From neuroscience and understanding of the brain, we understand suffering. From where we decide we do not want to see another organism feel such psychological state. Thus morality. Religion makes people follow a specific set of rules that are not allowed to be scrutinized. Therefore those at higher leve can often leverage religion as excuse to break out of biologically derived morality. |
