| Do people ever outgrow extreme religion? Being the eternal optimist, I like to think people will look at hateful, oppressive religion objectively one day and abandon it, or at least exchange it for something less hateful. I imagine the fundamentalist one day being tired of hating others and then giving his/her faith a critical look. Does this ever happen though? I see the religious spectrum as being similar to the political spectrum where people do occasionally mellow, but I'm not sure if it works that way in religion. goinupru: I think you'll find I said "Fundamentalist", not "Fundamentalist Christian". But if you resemble that remark... John W: Given the choice, I'd be a "tolerant embarrassing butt-kisser" than your brand of hateful Christian. Keep your bible to yourself please. |
