If you rephrase the Golden Rule for all religions it will sound like:
"Do not preach to other (or teach about other) religious/atheist people things you will be offended to hear yourself"

I think not all religions practice this, many want to convert other believers (and non-believers), some threaten others with going to heill, etc.

Probably Golden Rule is not written for religions, but for godly/conscientious people.
