Why do so many ex-JWs spend so much time and energy slamming their old religion?

I'm a former JW, and I don't do that. Frankly, I find that sort of thing embarrassing.

So why bother going on and on about what you think is wrong with the religion? Why not just go on with your life and whatever belief system (or lack thereof) works for you?
