OMG (no pun intended) I was speaking to Davey Jones recently, when he was performing at a local casino. We got to talking about religion, for whatever reason, though I think it was probably due to the priest costume I was wearing. I told him I was Father Patrick O'Brien and the SOB wanted to confess! I said, no, Davey, there's a time and a place for that. Anyway---I found out the poor lad is Catholic, and sadly, he has a thing for priests too!! Yikes!!

Do you mean of Davey Jones' Locker fame? He was no true believer. he was the captian of the "Flying Dutchman" and once when being urged by his crew to turn back in a horrible storm, cursed God. He was sentenced to forever have to sail the world on a cursed ship. He has a reputation for being the harbinger of death and all his victims are dragged onto his ship to work eternally. The ancient beliefs about Mermen mix in here, as it was believed they held the sould of the drown in Jars in their houses under the sea - Davey Jones keeps those souls trapped in his "Sea Locker". Thus Drowned sailors, especially the bad once, were thought to be dragged to serve the evil Daey Jones.
