Based on these beliefs i tell inside, what religion would you say I should check out?

I'm fourteen and have been interested in religion lately. I wasn't brought up in a very religious family. (My family does have a religion, most of them are Christian.) I'd like to find out for myself what religion I believe in. Any suggestions on some religions I should look into and research? Here are some basic beliefs of mine: -I'm not even sure if there is a God, some people say I'm agnostic. There's no proof that there is a higher being, but there isn't proof that there isn't. -Deep down, i feel that there is, with lack of a better word, a catalyst for everything, like how the world began. -I believe in evolution, but i believe that something must have started it all, I'm just not sure what. -I do believe in Jesus Christ, but I'm not so sure if I believe he was a savior to us. The whole idea of him being God's son is a little iffy to me. Other people can say that they're His son if they prove it to enough people. -I believe that people should help themselves, not always God.
-I believe in things like ESP, ghosts, spirits, life after death (because I believe that surely, this can't be all it is.), and things like that.

Also, tell me your opinions on this: if there is a God, who is supposed to be so forgiving, why do so many horrible things happen in this world? My dad says he believes that the world is God's experiment, and he's watching how we live and act, and he one day will have an almost perfect world.
