Very interesting how you guys think. Is it possible that the science that you have faith in and its methods of dating are design to support its hypothesis of evolution? Its estimations are so outrageously vague and unsound, don't you think? Something else to think about, huh?

You just described Gap Creationism. It doesn't really work though because science says that humans have been around much longer than 6000 years.

I think its perfectly fine to combine the two, if you're a logical yet spiritual person go ahead and combine it. But if you really think about it, every culture has a creation myth, and God creating the earth in 7 days is ours.

Opinions are irrelevant. The evidence shows that you are mistaken.

The REAL question to ask is: how long is ONE DAY to God? 24 hours? 48 hours? A year? A thousand years? A million years? A billion years?

If 'God' can transcend space and time, don't you think that our narrow minds have problems conceiving this simple answer?

My opinion is that the ancients didn't have a clue about the origins of anything. I am happy to see that you're thinking and trying to make some sense of what you've been told. Unfortunately for your rather inspired hypothesis, there is abundant physical evidence that humans have been on Earth for a lot longer than a mere 6,000 years. The current best guess is that humanity was created by a special type of genetic mutation, a chromosome fusion, that combined two pairs of chromosomes into one pair. This is why humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes and all the apes have 24. The best estimate is that this chromosome fusion occurred somewhere between 50,000 and 150,000 years ago. All modern human beings are descended from this mutant, who is sometimes referred to as "Mitochondrial Eve."

Unlike the incremental, step by step evolution caused by sexual reproduction and single-point mutations, whole new species are sometimes created when entire chromosomes are dramatically re-arranged. Przewalski's horse is another fine example of this chromosome-fusion/species-generating phenomenon. There are many others, but you'll really have to dig to find them, because this form of mutation is comparatively rare.

Only you can choose who you're going to believe, the accumulated scientific knowledge of the best of our species -- or the ignorant superstitions of our ancient ancestors, who didn't even understand that their own thoughts were created by their own brains.

I disagree because scientists have found remains of early humans that pre-date your 6000 year old theory.
