why do people keep being horrible about each others religions?

I accept church folks' views, only troulbe is they get their kids hooked at an early age, and when they get into adulthood it's difficult for them to kick it.

everyone wants to be right with his point of view, all are insecure about themselves, that is why they need the confrontation... for the approval and disapproval game.

they love each other, because without the other, they could not be...
all are believing.
they love each other! definitely.
and none of them is certain, it is a belief, not a knowing. and that is why they are afraid of each other, because the other is constantly shaking their belief.
if they would come to know the truth about god and existence, they would finally experess their love for each other...

I think thats the way they pass time away before they let themselves crash down into poverty because they belive in the Apocolypse or something. Whatever the case is I think its just for them to pass time.

Well, it doesn't have to do with most of the teachings of most religions. Most of them have a good deal of "love thy neighbor" and "be kind" stuff in them.

One problem is that most of them have this "if you don't belong to my team you will, at best, miss out on heaven and, at worst, suffer for eternity." It just doesn't jibe with the whole "love and forgiveness" thing. Not only a turn off but a pointed insult.

It's like focusing on the cross instead of the resurrection. Or Jihad instead of "Allah is merciful" or "an eye for an eye", etc.

Hindus have their caste system as well, don't forget.

I think it boils down to the whole idea that God is separate from Creation instead of the embodiment of it.

What if the most important thing in the Bible to take literally was the "whatsoever you do to the least ..." part. Reason would say that we are all Christ and all manifestations of the same being - God. That is what Mother Theresa believed. She said we are all Christ in disguise. That was her main motivation for her unimpeachable life.

ignorance! People are not comfortable with things they do not understand, Therefore they trash and bash on the things they don't really understand. I agree the world does need peace and we all need to stop setting around fussing with each other.

Emotional attachment to one's beliefs. If someone else's beliefs differ, it hurts one emotionally and it is cause for retaliation or hate or intolerance.
