Baptism and certain religions?

Ok, so I was baptized in Catholic church, my boyfriend was baptized in a Baptist church, both as babies, we just had a baby, out of wedlock... and I want to baptize baby...the next problem is that neither me or dad are religous, to the point of possible atheism...BUT, I would certainly like for my son to make his own mind up....so , when people go to a christian church, what is that, a whole other religion? is it a mixture? would that be the best place for my son ? whats your thoughst, LAY OFF THE RUDE COMMENTARY I know is sure to come from the EXTREMISTS.
it would be my intention to send him to religious classes, like CCD it was called when i was a child, throught the catholic church, i obtained my communion and wuold like that of him as well. So I'm thinking a catholic church I should look into. I would ofcourse take him to church , so he has a better understanding that way. I will not just show him our non-beliefs.
to the guy "new" that wrote-Society will teach him 24 x 7 that he does not need Religion, and teach him that the only way to happiness is to buy it and from them.
....Seems odd you would think society would teach him 24/7 he doesn't need it, when everyone I know is a believer for the most part, and all feel strongly regarding religion.. i was shown only catholic sides of things, it was boring and unintereting and around 7th grade said to a very religous friend, I think I don't belive in god..she was shocked and probably still is to this day, but since than, on my own, i've felt that same way...like its all just a bunch o bull. But I think its great others feel soo strongly about it.
