I’m questioning my religion......help???

I have been born and raised as a Catholic....but as I have grown older its getting harder and harder to believe some of the things I read in the Bible. There’s just so much evidence supporting evolution (where as Christianity has little) which doesn’t really fit into what the Bible says........I don’t know whether to become an Atheist or continue to follow Christianity..........should I give up being a Catholic?
im 16 by the way
I have read all your answers with deep thought apart from the odd few stupid ones, so thanks they have been very helpful.

:]

Christianity has more evidence than evolution, you just haven't bothered reading around on the internet and in books to find out. More and more scientists are finding flaws in evolution, and in all honesty, I gave up with the theory of evolution ages ago, and that's not just because I'm a christian; it simply doesn't make sense.

Also evolution is a fairly new concept in terms of history, so its got a lot of holes blown into it from that perspective. It can't explain the appearance of important groups of life that suddenly appeared in events like the Cambrian explosion.

If you're problem is the whole dinosaurs issue, then don't worry! The bible says God made all creatures, and of course it's not going to specifically mention the word dinosaur; that's a fairly modern word, again, in terms of history. I think the fact that evolution doesn't always fit into the bible is a bit of a poor reason to abandon your faith; the bible doesn't list everything that's ever happened, just the ''God sections!''

It's natural that as you get older it gets harder to believe everything you've been told as a child; you find this enough outside religion, let alone inside it! The idea that the thing that's been the centre of your life for the last however many years (Catholicism) might not be true is a tough one to get your head around, but it's natural as you become an adult to start questioning things. God will persevere with you, if you persevere with Him! God stays with us all times; He never leaves us!

I am struggling to see how you can jump from Christianity all the way to the other scale of faith and hit rock bottom at Atheism; surely you'd move down to being an Agnostic, otherwise your basically saying you've been lying all your life! Just because you're questioning it at the moment this doesn't mean you've lost your faith altogether, which I believe is a requirement to be classified as an Atheist?

I hope this has helped. God's still there; remember that much!
