| Buddhist Religion--Bring reborn a good thing?
I'm taking an Asian Religions course and am writing a comparative essay on ancient/sacred texts regarding any topic I want! My chosen topic is liberation (i.e. karma, reincarnation, being reborn, etc.) I am using "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" to support the side of my argument that says it is not a good thing to be reborn. Any ideas for which text I could use that would support wanting to be reborn?? I was told to look into "Amaidaism" but don't know a good text to use. Please help!!
What I'm really looking for is a text to support that side of the argument. I don't need to discuss what side I believe in, rather just comapre the different texts & in this case I'm choosing to discuss the different views on liberation.
Would "Pure Land Buddhism" be a good place to start? They believe you don't have to seek enlightement, right? KNOW A GOOD TEXT FOR THAT? Thanks!
