| Country, city, suburbs, small town. Does where you live affect your spirituality?
For example, I've almost always lived in a small town. Where I live now, there are only about 500 people.
Almost everyone's pretty mellow about life in general. No one really cares that some of our "townsfolk" are gay, people of color, single parents, of varied religions or having no religion at all.
These little differences really don't hold much, if any, importance. Everyone has a place here, we all fit in, we're all accepted.
We awaken to birdsong, and drift to sleep listening to coyotes howling in the distance. We watch eagles soar, are surrounded by virgin forests, and have rivers and streams to play in.
I think if I were to live in a city I'd become bitter and cynical. I know my life, and my approach to it, have been shaped by this idyllic little place I call home.
I'm wondering how where you live has shaped who you are, or if you think it has had no effect at all.
