| A question on religions from the far east? Our western mindset is in terms of instant gratification. In particular, in the US, we want to see results now. We want to resolve issues within a meeting, instead of waiting for results.
But, I've heard that in many cultures, particularly in the Far East, the mindset is different. Often they look at the ramifications of issues and how they will affect things from a longer time span.
What I'm wondering is...could that patience be due to certain religious influences, rather than cultural influences? If so, what religions inspire this mindset????
Thanks in advance for helping to me to understand a different culture or belief.
Yes, Christianity has this mindset as well, but it has not influence our American culture in this regard. |
