I don't think anyone has ever answered this question better than James, the brother of Jesus Christ, circa AD 50:

"Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after widows and orphans in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." - James 1:27

Religion is a product of man. Check all the scripture that you want and you will see that God has never mentioned the word Religion. Every faith claims that they are the true religion and God has never picked any one of them. The battle over the true religion is really religion competition in disguise.

Preservation of the saints

1 Corinthians 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

2 Corinthians 10:18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The bible teaches that Jesus is the way the truth and the life , no man comes to the Father (God) except through Jesus.

No Religion is approved by GOD. Religion was created by man to control the superstitious masses.The word of GOD was not meant to be organized. It is to be followed upon faith in his words to these mortal vessels.
Their are many places that say in the bible and the KORAN that the word of GOD is and has been tainted by MANS
Embellishments. Religion is used to control man not to bring him closer to
