To define Conservatism in american politics todayl, can we just look at the 6...

...years of republican control ?? of presidency, the house of representatives and the senate to get a good idea of what republicans and conservatives stand for today? (The policies that were put in place, the laws that were passed, the agenda of the different departments such as justice, labor, immigration, etc... even the laws they tried to pass but did not ..like social security etc..)
