How do I keep motivated to keep doing my treatments??

I have Cystic Fibrosis, a respiratory disease, and the treatments that I do to help control it are very time consuming. I read, play my DS and my wii, and watch tv but its gotten to the point that these are boring. If you have any tips or activities, please tell!

Consider listening to audio books. This site offers rental of audiobookshttp://www.simplyaudiobooks.comThere are lots of other sites, that's the only one off the top of my head..Another suggestion is knitting or doing counted cross-stitch (my favorite!!)

Are you on the vest or do you do manual CPT? If you use the vest you could do something else whilst you shake.

My hat is off to you for your efforts. I am a respiratory therapist and research coordinator in a CF clinic. Frankly, I don't know how you do it. Some of my patients do computer work, or go to chat rooms (or Yahoo answers, I imagine!) One of my patients dances with the vest on (I'm not sure how! but she does). I would suggest picking one activity for each treatment and rotate them so you don't get as bored. Good for you, again. It's about all I can do to exercise a mere half hour a day. p.s. take heart, too, many of the new medicines that are currently in the drug testing pipeline are inhaled, and with new nebulizers (the eFlow) which will take far less time....or they'll be dry powder inhaled, which will take very little time! TOBI is being tested as dry powder inhaler, which will be wonderful as I think TOBI is one of the longer neb treatments. For more info on this, go to www.cff.org and click on research, then drug development pipeline.
