Are Royalty Payments made to Franchisor deductible?

I purchased a Cleaning Restoration franchise company and I have to make monthly Royalty payments to the Franchisor. I am trying to find out if it is deductible (expense) ? Or does the IRS not consider this an expense?

Why would it not be deductible? It is a cost for doing business.
