You want might take into account the fact that no one can run for high office without the funds to run a modern campaign. The average person does not have enough money to give to a candidate who will support his positions, so this correct candidate stays poor and obscure. The only candidates who manage to get to the top of the dogpile have no problem taking corporate money, and are therefore at least mildly obligated to do what corporations want.It's not who-votes-for-who. It's who-puts-who-up-for-vote. Plug that into your equation. :]

I hate it when we get pampered by these guys. They have no business doing this! We don't need their welfare, and they surely as hell don't need our hard earned money for political purposes. What we need is a strong national defense, by bringing the troops home, lower our debt, protect our borders, have limited government, and obey/defend the Constitution! That is what we're supposed to be.. a constitutional republicn, not a democracy. Soon, if things don't change, and won't stop taxing the shoes out of the middle class, wiping us out, destroying our dollar, and destroying our great image on the world comunity, there will be a huge change in the near future.

because the current administration has decided to hail themselves as royalty, regardless of laws that have been in place since the founding of the country (including the by the people for the people thing, and the not torturing thing, which is restated in the Geneva Convention) as well as rules agreed upon by many countries (like when we invaded Vietnam using Hmong operatives secretly employed by the CIA) the people also have the right to overthrow a government that they see as misrepresenting them, so why havn't we overthrown our obscenely rich goverment while so many americans live far below the poverty line?

i think that the laws need to be rewrote so that the congress and house can only have one or two years terms so that the people can see what the politicians are doing and if they dont like it then get them out of there i also think one of our bigger problems is only having 2 "main" parties were everyone has to vote for them or feel like they are throwing away there votes. That is not what the constitution was set up for it is a real travesty

Yes, the adage "We get the government we deserve" is true for most. And, when we continue to vote for bad, awful or terrible, we seem to be saying that it is acceptable to offer no better. That we're fine with the choices we're being given, and that we accept and approve of the direction in which this country is moving.

Once we have elected these people into office, I think (my personal opinion) we do not continue to pay attention to what they are doing. Before you know it, we are reading negative things about them . If we disagree with what is being done by our elected officials, we should ban together and let them know in writing, that we are displease with their performance and withdraw our support.
