| A member of a fraternal (part of a fraternity) order that is known for its devotion to one supreme being. They get together on a regular basis in a lodge and perform rituals. These rituals often serve to initiate new members and communicate group ideals. They are also known to give great amounts of time and money to charitable organizations. | A freemason is someone that joins a masonic lodge, usually by referral or being initiated by another mason. Freemasonry is a secret society, that is based on esoteric wisdom, and occult practices. They are 3 degrees of the Blue Lodge, and if one continues in freemasonry they can go to the Scottish rite, which has 33 degrees, or the Egyptian rite which has 95 degrees. |

| Re: Whats is a Freemason? A Freemason, is a man who has been initiated into the Masonic Fraternity. The procedure for becoming a Freemason is not complicated. The basic requirements are : Male Belief in God (NOT required to practice any specific creed or denomination) Mature of age (18 some states, 21 most states) Some states have a residency requirement(Georgia, requires the applicant to reside in Georgia for three years, California requires one year) Some states require the applicant to have one or more character references.
