How should I go about talking to this guy and his friends?

ORIGINALLY I POSTED THIS IN THE SINGLES&DATING SECTION, BUT I BELIEVE THAT THIS SECTION IS BETTER FOR MY QUESTION.There's this guy and his friends I know and we're all on the swim team together. He and his friends are older than me and no one really knows me. We all swim in different lanes at practice so I couldn't really talk to him/them. Sometimes we'll swim in lanes next to each other, but we'd would only be able to talk during break. I'm also a little intimidated by him and his swim buddies because they're so much better than me. Also, my self esteem is a bit low when I talk to guys; I always get that feeling that there's something on my face or in my teeth and they're staring right at it. I just want to get to know him because he seems like a good guy and I want to know how he swims so INCREDIBLY fast (and maybe get a little flirtatious after I know him better?).Also, I don't want to come off as a loser or a wanna-be or anything like that.

Only be flirtatious if you're into him.Don't be shy. No one is perfect. Just try not to overreact about how you look when talking to guys. If you don't, you'll eventually start feeling better about yourself, and talking to guys.

whenever i hang with dudes, i get a little nervous myself but i let all that go and just be myself. if im quiet im quiet and if i speak i speak. when i play b-ball with my guy friends i know they talkn about me because usually im the only girl and im not that good but i make shots tho and they are polite and kind to me. just be yourself and they will be able to deduct whether you are real with them or not. i get insecure to but luckily the dudes i hang with arent that stuck up. gud luck

just chill out nd wen u see time juz walk by say wats up nd wen dey answer u ull have a topic of conversation if ur shy look at them ask da question then look to another place but dont turn completely around so u wont see if face they r looking directly at u

Just talk to him. And i know that it sounds corny or w/e, but just be urself and go talk to him! I'm the same way, but try not to worry so much! If you're really to nervous to talk to guys by urself, go with ur friends-that helps me. But be careful who u bring cuz you don't want ur crush to end up liking ur friend. Good luck.
