Just want a few more opinions...does he like me?

OK so I met a guy(John) a few weeks ago Who was really nice, and I remembered him from school. At the time, I was dating someone, so we never talked much, but once he found out I was single again, he started contacting me a lot more, and we would have longer conversations. Anyway, we got a hotel room for this past weekend, and we woud go out, drink, come back, drink more, and as he laid down the first night, he kissed me for a few seconds, rolled over, and held my hand over his chest. we didn't kiss, but I was a little confused, and wanted to put my ar around him, and before I could get guts to do so, he reached back, and grabed my hand (I was facing him) and hel my hand against his chest again. I really like him, and told him he was adorable, and he told me thanks and that he need to hear that sometimes. On oth nights, I would look at him, and would notice him looking at me and smile. I am nt sure if I should ask him how he feels, or let things progress further if they will. help!
