is it okay for a white girl to date an asian guy?

i'm 18 and just graduated from high school. okay so there's an asian guy who goes to my school who totally defies the geeky-asian-guy racial stereotype. all his ex-girlfriends are white. he's funny/witty, good at flirting, speak english without accent, varsity football and basketball, wears throwback jersey, oversize t-shirt, and gold chains. (very hip-hop-oriented) senior prefect, muscular (except that he's quite short).
we've been friends since elementary school. anyway he just asked me out. and i'm not sure about it. i mean, i like him a lot more than some of my ex-bfs and i'm not racist. but i'm not sure how others are gonna react.
