i recently re-installed windows now i can't get e-mails sent before that date...

...can i recover them? i re-installed windows vista home premium on the 29 february but my e-mail inbox only shows messages sent fom that date onwards is there any way to recover e-mails sent before that date as some contain important information. I currently use bt yahoo mail as well as windows mail included with vista. Any help would be much appreciated.
