| synodontis skin condition? I changed them from one tank to another, so it could of been the stress kinda doubt it. Moved them to a tank with a higher PH. Which used to house south americans but I changed the gravel and every thing, used part of the water from the original syno tank. - 2 have a large while spot near their tail, the other one looks like a faint stain. Like what paper glue would look like on your hands after drying. |

| What your description sounds like to me (without being able to see your fish) is excessive slime coat production. Two issues you have here: 1) Moving the water does nothing to cycle your new tank - the beneficial bacteria you want attach to and reside in the gravel and filter media - not the water. So your fish could be dealing with high ammonia or nitrite in the tank. 2) If the "new" tank still has a different pH than they had been in without enough time to acclimate to the change, they could also be suffering from alkalosis, an increase in the PH. You can find more on both conditions here: http://www.fish-disease.net/diseases.htm In either case, a 50% water change with new water added very slowly would reduce the ammonia/nitrite and bring the pH closer to what they're used to. |
