Help, Social Science Investigation Project?

I need to figure out a Research topic for my project. The difficult part is I also have to find articles related to my thesis statement that are legitimate.
If you could help provide any ideas on questions and if you know of any articles related to it that would be great. If not questions are just fine, I can try to research the articles.

Wow, that's totally wide open. Here are some things that I think are interesting that have been in the news lately (or recurrently):

Free Speech issues (I'm especially interested in college campus stuff which you can find out about on http://www.thefire.org)
Education (is it good enough, should we spend more money, how should we raise test scores)
How people deal with uncertainty in the economy (just look for articles on recession, the housing market crisis and inflation)
Campaign Finance Reform and implications on the 1st amendment and free speech (http://www.fee.org/publications/the-freeman/article.asp?aid=1833 is a good article, also look elsewhere on the site)
