Sociology question...?

Question for sociology class...kinda stumped and don't know which direction to go.

There is an ongoing debate over whether schools should focus exclusively on teaching academics or also teach children how to be good, productive citizens ("the hidden curriculum"). What do you think? How did you reach that conclusion? Would school officials face any practical challenges if they adopted your perspective as an official policy?

I know its a mouthful...
