| I actually had a paper like this due a couple of weeks ago for my Anthropology class. The things my professor was looking for in our obervations included: Approximate amount of people in attendance, age ranges, what people were wearing (if it was a formal occasion or casual), whether most people went with family or friends (as far as you can tell) and how they interact with one another. Also, keep in mind whether the event you;re actively participating in is something that follows a schedule, which will help you keep a tab of everything that you do. You also should keep an eye on alcoholic beverages, how people act (whether they're being appropriate and respectful or rude and belligerent.) Now, I don't know if this relates to your assignment, but I also had to do an analysis on how the behaviors of the people at the event I attended was representative of "mainstream America," So try to keep in mind how the event is advertised and what it means in relation to American society as a whole. Hope this was helpful and good luck to you. |
