SCHOOLS TEACH KIDS HOW TO TALK, WHAT TO VALUE, AND WHAT TO DO IN SOCIETY

1) Schools reinforce Standard American English through drills and admonishments. African American English (AAE) and the Southern White Vernacular English (SWVE) are weeded out and overtime students begin to SHARE a common language. Lingua Franca = shared culture.
2) Students are taught the history of our nation. They learn about Washington, Lincoln, Thurgood Marshal, MLK, JFK, RFK, et al. They (hopefully) will take a good measure of pride in that history and learn to SHARE some patriotism. Or at the very least a shared understanding of the events that shaped our country.
3) They learn from each other. Social abnormalities are weeded out through their daily interactions. They learn the difference between acceptable behavior and dysfunctional behavior. They learn whats profitable (socially, materially, whatever) and whats hazardous. They develop a SHARED social conscience.

education system gives you the skills other than book smarts to function in society. Cooperation, conflict resolution, mores, folkways blah blah blah..
you should be able to work off that.
