What do sociology undergraduates go into in grad school? I graduated with a degree in sociology in December of last year, and after finding NO job so far, I've decided that I made the biggest mistake of my life. I really, really, REALLY don't want to go to grad school, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to in order to survive. I know that a lot of sociology undergrads get their master's in shit like social work, but I don't want to go that route. Basically, I want to get my master's in something (I don't know what yet) that has nothing to do with sociology. Will this be difficult to do? Will I have to take like 2 years of undergraduate courses before I can even start the grad work?

you can get a master in any degree program....as long as you have a BA degree in anything. with a sociology degree, there are many job opportunities such as, counselor, social worker 1, working for the state, or government, if you are having a difficult time finding a job, you can always go to your university to the career center and they will help you find a job, Many students do not take advantage of this, and they are in a job crunch. Take advantage you will have a job in 1-2 weeks.

i think that a big mistake that many college students make is that they pick a major that they like.. and they dont really think about the possible career opporutnities with the specific major... you can attempt to get ur MBA.. its very broad and you can do a lot with it... different schools have different requirements so it really depends on their program. Some would prefer just some basic business courses, which you can take at a local community college
