Sociology Bachelor's Degree? I have a sociology B.A. degree. I earned my degree in 1994. However, it has done EXACTLY what my former college professors predicted it would do--->NOTHING!! I say a sociology B.A. means absolutely NOTHING to an employer. If you are a person who is majoring in sociology or who has a sociology degree at the undergraduate level, why did you decide to major in sociology? What is your hope with such degree?

Maybe I shouldn't be here cause I can't answer your questions, but I just felt so bad for you about how you feel towards all the work you did to get your degree. A B.A. always looks good on a resume, maybe not the field but the fact that you attended college and followed it through is really worth something to an employer. I wish I could say more to you to help but I really do give you coo-dows for your college degree. Have you tried taking more classes and rotating your degree into another similar but "different" category? Have you asked employers what degree they would like to see? I can think of several jobs that are interesting to me that sociology applies to. Advertising consultant, property purchasing, marketing consultant, professor, statistics, and more. Good luck and hope it all pans out!

my partner has a degree in sociology. from there, she went on to get her masters degree to work at a college as a student life professional. she is currently getting her PhD in student affairs. i think a degree doesn't give you opportunity, it's how you work it when you have it. and, it doesn't matter if it means NOTHING to an employer, what does it mean to you?
