| Which Audio Recording software will work better?
I'm trying to get something like Audacity (freeware) that's compatible with the Sony lineup (Vegas, Sound Forge, etc). Looked at Acid, but I've been told there are other products that will allow for mixing audio on a multi-channel format. Sound forge is good for recording, but doesn't allow much control when mixing. It is supported by Sony Vegas (and so is Acid), but before I sink the cash, I'm looking for any other recommendations. Not only would I use this for music recording (and editing), but also for sound mastering (in ways sound forge cannot). So, besides Acid, are there any other software options that can be recommended for my intended use?

y Where do I start? The best advice I can give you right now is to go to either guitar center pro audio or Sam Ash pro audio and you will find out everything you wanted to know about sound recording devices and programs and maybe more than you care to know If you are serious ( I played for 40years in concerts and clubs with sound and recording of all types ) get a book on digital recording and you will nave a better understanding of what you are getting into
