Like to know if any software will help "cleanup" the 100's of photos?

I have kodak easyshare, media centre & picasa and there just seems to be multiple double ups of everything. I would like all photos & movies in one area. I struggle to use media centre, it doesn't seem to have good editing options but my movie camera is a panasonic and fusy with what programs you can use to download. Don't mind if software is free or I need to purchase it.
