Help! with adding software to macbook?

i recently got a used macbook, and i have the 08 ilife installed already but the idvd and imovie are not working.
i have the ilife 06' the guys gave to me with the computer, so how do i install the 06' edt. of ONLY idvd and imovie without installing the whole ilofe 08' and replacing my new ilife 08'?
for the last question i meant to type how do i instal the idvd and imovie of life 06' without replacing my whole ilife of 08'

when you load up the software, it should have an option to install all the programs or you can select which ones to install? have you tried that option
