Some software that would help my new setup?

I just installed a new monitor onto my laptop, meaning I now have two screens on my computer that are connected. I was wondering if there was any cool free software out there to enhance this feature. Such as extending the start bar, or whatever. Any program that you feel would utilize this feature. Thanks guys.
