Which software is best for setting pages of a book that I'm writing in A5 size?

And what printer would be best Trying to do home printing/ self-publishing of christian books for our church. No need to get profit just to recover costs. Have fair-sized study and good PC. What software would be best to produce A5 size, ready-to-print pages and which printer could I buy to do the job? Which binder would I use to do perfect binding? Is is possible to get some of the software through shareware/ freeware?
