What simple sound software should I buy?

I am an artist film maker who makes short videos on adobe premiere. I used to mix my sound on this software but find it to be too limiting. I need to use a sound package where I can also see my video image so that I can mix the sound directly to it. I did try using cubase but found this to be far too complicated. I don't really want to spend more than £50.00 on this software but could stretch to £80.00. Any recommendations greatly recieved Thanks Tessa
