I need some video editing software? trying to take clips from actual movies and

shortening them....? I have a clip from a movie I need to shorten. I want to add it to my powerpoint presentation but it is too long. Its off the movie Stardust... The clip is too long and i need to shorten it. Is there anyway or any free software I can download to shorten my clip???
