January software upgrades from iTunes?

I have an iPod touch. 8GB, version 1.1.4, and iTunes 7.6. Only have one computer, iTunes use to ask me if i wanted the upgrades but back then i didn't know. So why can't i get them anymore? P.S. i also know about jailbraking so...
